Joe Webb – one of UK’s most captivating young jazz pianists – brings his trio to Hong Kong for an exciting debut performance at Freespace Jazz Fest
Young British pianist and composer Joe Webb has emerged as a leading force on the global jazz scene. Recognised for his exceptional talent and rockstar-like persona, he blends inspiration from 90’s Brit-pop and his Welsh cultural roots with a unique blend of nostalgia and originality that pushes the boundaries of classic jazz.
Performing on stage with formidable long-time collaborator Will Sach on double bass and Kai MaCrae on drums, Webb demonstrates his dexterous, light touch, presenting a bright, technically deft and uplifting programme of music from their 2024 album Hamstrings & Hurricanes – one of the year’s top jazz releases in Europe – along with new and yet-to-be-released sounds.
Highly regarded as a pianist and composer, Joe Webb has collaborated with renowned artists such as Wynton Marsalis and Jamie Cullum, and toured his own music internationally.
This programme is co-presented by WestK Performing Arts and Premiere Performances of Hong Kong.
